Sony released the second trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage
Disney+ announced the second season of the critically-acclaimed animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch, which will launch in 2022.
“Fans have enthusiastically embraced the action and drama of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and we are excited to see the Star Wars animated universe continue to expand on Disney+,” said Michael Paull, president of Disney+ and ESPN+. “As the dedicated streaming home for the Star Wars franchise, we can’t wait for the second season of this fan-favorite animated series.”
“The entire Lucasfilm Animation team and I would like to thank Disney + and our fans for the opportunity to continue telling the story of the Bad Batch,” added executive producer Dave Filoni.
Rumored Blue Beetle actor Xolo Maridueña has teased his role in the upcoming film with new images on his social media. The young actor got his start with a main role on the hit television series Parenthood on NBC. Since 2018, he has starred as Miguel Diaz on the hit series, Cobra Kai, a spin-off sequel series to The Karate Kid trilogy. Cobra Kai has been a critical and audience hit, recently earning an Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series.
In February 2021, it was reported that a Blue Beetle film was being developed with Charm City Kings director Angel Manuel Soto helming the project. The film is reportedly set to be one of many DC films set to premiere exclusively on HBO Max alongside Batgirl. News broke that Maridueña was in talks to play the lead role of Jaime Reyes, a.k.a. the Blue Beetle in the upcoming film on August 2, 2021, which happened to be the date Warner Bros. held the premiere for the DC comic adaptation, The Suicide Squad.
HBO Max will release its upcoming Batman podcast exclusively on the streaming platform as it continues to expand its audio offerings beyond companion podcasts.
The scripted audio original, Batman: The Audio Adventures, stars Jeffrey Wright as the caped hero. On Wednesday, the streamer revealed that Rosario Dawson will star as Catwoman and John Leguizamo will portray the Riddler in a cast that also includes Saturday Night Live alums like Jason Sudeikis, Seth Meyers, Bobby Moynihan, Kenan Thompson, Heidi Gardner and Fred Armisen.
